Tibbit #30 (Ambient humidity/temperature sensor)

The node module for collecting data from Tibbit #30 (Ambient humidity/temperature sensor).

Installation Instructions

The module is available as precompiled binary and C source code.

Install the module

npm install @tibbo-tps/tibbit-30

Usage

API Methods:

init(socket)

• socked - TPP socket number

Returns an object with a singe method:

.getData()

Returns an object with the following properties:

• temperature - Temperature, Celsius
• humidity - Humidity, %
• status

About the Tibbit #30 block

This Tibbit is based on the HIH6130 ambient humidity and temperature sensor IC with I2C interface.

The sensor is implemented as the C1 device with perforated front face and a rubber wall separating the sensor from the internal space of the TPS.

This is done to minimize the influence of the heat produced by the TPP and other Tibbits.

The module measures the ambient relative humidity with 0.04% resolution and +/-4%RH accuracy. The temperature is measured with 0.025 deg.C resolution and +/-1 deg.C accuracy.

This C1 device requires that Tibbit #00-3 is installed in the neighbouring "M" socket. #00-3 provides two direct lines for I2C comms, as well as the ground and +5V power for the HIH6130 IC.
