Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

colibri

Colibri is a lightweight, customizable component library for Svelte apps. Our goal is to provide you with a set of components for the majority of common use cases, letting you build on top of that to realize your ideas without worrying about finding or building basic interactive elements. We also want to give you the flexibility to style the components however you want while keeping things consistent for you.

See our documentation at https://colibri-thetinkerinc.vercel.app/

npm version

Getting started

  1. Install the library
npm install @thetinkerinc/colibri
  1. Import the base styles and a theme in your root +layout.svelte file
<script>
    import { Themer } from '@thetinkerinc/colibri';
    import theme from '@thetinkerinc/colibri/themes/colibri.js';

    import '@thetinkerinc/colibri/styles/all.css';
</script>

<Themer {theme}>
	<slot />
</Themer>
  1. Start using components
 <script>
import { Button } from '@thetinkerinc/colibri';

function handleClick() {
    console.log("That's all there is to it!");
}
</script>

<Button on:click={handleClick}>Click me</Button>

This is a new library, so we're still working on adding new components and features as well as working on stability. If something isn't working as you'd expect, or if there is a component you would like to see, please open up an issue! We'll try to get on it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, here's our current roadmap of what we'd like to work on:

  • More components!
    • We have a few more components in development, but we would like to expand even more to make sure we have you covered in almost any situation
  • More themes
    • We currently only have a light and dark mode. We're working on adding more themes that you can build off of
  • Showcase
    • We want to see what you make with Colibri!
  • Accessibility
    • We want to make sure all components adhere to best practices to be able to reach as many people as possible
