Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

☕️ Installation

  1. Create a fresh blog from scratch

    Use the Gatsby CLI to create a new blog site, specifying Clarisse template as the starter.

    # create a new Gatsby site using Clarisse starter
    gatsby new my-cool-blog https://github.com/tacogator/gatsby-starter-blog-material-clarisse
  2. Start developing.

    Navigate into your new site’s directory and start it up.

    cd my-cool-blog/
    gatsby develop

    Your site is now running at http://localhost:8000!

Add Clarisse to existing Gatsby project:

Alternatively, you can add Clarisse theme to an existing Gatsby project.

# Install the theme
yarn add @tacogator/gatsby-theme-blog-material-clarisse

Add theme to gatsby-config.js

Clarisse theme supports standard Gatsby project structure.

  1. /content/pages: This directory contains all of the static pages. One dir per page.

  2. /content/posts: This directory contain all of the ariticles. One dir per article. Put photos in the dir.

  3. /src: (Optional) This directory contains your own custom components or pages. If you wish to override (or "shadow") any Clarisse's components, place them in src/@tacogator/gatsby-theme-blog-material-clarisse. See Gatsby shadowing docs.

  4. /static: Static assets such as branding images and logos.

  5. gatsby-config.js: Gatsby configuration file. This is where you provide information about your site (metadata) like the site title, description, navigation links and branding images.
