Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Voting app client

Simple command-line client for accessing the voting app.

The following environment variables should be set:

FRONTEND: the voting app frontend (ex: http://localhost:8080)

or

FRONTEND_HOST: the frontend host (defaults to frontend) FRONTEND_PORT: the frontend listening port (defaults to port 8080)

Usage

$ client
Usage: client [options] [command]

Options:
-V, --version   output the version number
-h, --help      display help for command

Commands:
vote            vote for cats or dogs
results         tally the votes
help [command]  display help for command

To cast a vote:

$ client vote
? What do you like better? (Use arrow keys)
❯ (quit)
  cats
  dogs

To see voting results:

$ client results
Total votes -> cats: 1, dogs: 2 ... DOGS WIN!
