asech
Compute the hyperbolic arcsecant of a number.
Installation
npm install @stdlib/math-base-special-asech
Usage
var asech = require( '@stdlib/math-base-special-asech' );
asech( x )
Computes the hyperbolic arcsecant of x
.
var v = asech( 1.0 );
// returns 0.0
v = asech( 0.5 );
// returns ~1.317
v = asech( 0.0 );
// returns Infinity
The domain of x
is restricted to the interval [0, 1]
. For x
outside of this interval, the function returns NaN
.
var v = asech( -1.0 );
// returns NaN
v = asech( 2.0 );
// returns NaN
Examples
var linspace = require( '@stdlib/array-base-linspace' );
var asech = require( '@stdlib/math-base-special-asech' );
var x = linspace( 0.1, 1.0, 100 );
var i;
for ( i = 0; i < x.length; i++ ) {
console.log( asech( x[ i ] ) );
}
C APIs
Usage
#include "stdlib/math/base/special/asech.h"
stdlib_base_asech( x )
Computes the hyperbolic arcsecant of x
.
double out = stdlib_base_asech( 1.0 );
// returns 0.0
The function accepts the following arguments:
- x:
[in] double
input value.
double stdlib_base_asech( const double x );
Examples
#include "stdlib/math/base/special/asech.h"
#include <stdio.h>
int main( void ) {
const double x[] = { 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.89, 2.33, 3.22, 3.67, 4.11, 4.56, 5.0 };
double v;
int i;
for ( i = 0; i < 10; i++ ) {
v = stdlib_base_asech( x[ i ] );
printf( "asech(%lf) = %lf\n", x[ i ], v );
}
}

Notice
This package is part of stdlib, a standard library for JavaScript and Node.js, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
