Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@socket.io/component-emitter

Event emitter component.

This project is a fork of the component-emitter project, with Socket.IO-specific TypeScript typings.

Installation

$ npm i @socket.io/component-emitter

API

Emitter(obj)

The Emitter may also be used as a mixin. For example a "plain" object may become an emitter, or you may extend an existing prototype.

As an Emitter instance:

import { Emitter } from '@socket.io/component-emitter';

var emitter = new Emitter;
emitter.emit('something');

As a mixin:

import { Emitter } from '@socket.io/component-emitter';

var user = { name: 'tobi' };
Emitter(user);

user.emit('im a user');

As a prototype mixin:

import { Emitter } from '@socket.io/component-emitter';

Emitter(User.prototype);

Emitter#on(event, fn)

Register an event handler fn.

Emitter#once(event, fn)

Register a single-shot event handler fn, removed immediately after it is invoked the first time.

Emitter#off(event, fn)

  • Pass event and fn to remove a listener.
  • Pass event to remove all listeners on that event.
  • Pass nothing to remove all listeners on all events.

Emitter#emit(event, ...)

Emit an event with variable option args.

Emitter#listeners(event)

Return an array of callbacks, or an empty array.

Emitter#hasListeners(event)

Check if this emitter has event handlers.
