Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Getting Started

  1. Configuration: Before diving in, run the following command to configure your noto:

    noto config

Here, you’ll need to input your Google GenAI API Key.

  1. Generate commit messages To generate a commit message, simply run:

    noto                 # generate a commit message
    
    # apply generated message
    noto --apply         # apply the message to current commit
    noto -a              # alias for apply 
    
    # copy generated message
    noto --copy          # copy the message to clipboard
    noto -c              # alias for copy
    
    # access the previously generated message
    noto prev            # view the last message
    
    noto prev --apply    # apply the last message to current commit
    noto prev -a         # alias for apply
    
    noto prev --copy     # copy the last message to clipboard
    noto prev -c         # alias for copy
