Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@shapediver/viewer.features.gumball

This is the npm package for the ShapeDiver Viewer Gumball feature. Please have a look at our help desk section for this feature.

For more information on ShapeDiver, please visit our homepage. If you need help, have a look at our help desk.

The Gumball has already been integrated with App Builder. This allows you to use a component in Grasshopper to initialize the Gumball. With this approach, no coding is needed.

Installation

npm install --save @shapediver/viewer.features.gumball

Usage

As this is an additional package to the @shapediver/viewer package, we omit the initial setup. Please have a look here.

Gumball

The gumball is initialized with the viewport in which it should be created and the nodes with which the Gumball should be initialized.

Once the Gumball has been created, you can listen to the EVENTTYPE_GUMBALL.MATRIX_CHANGED event which is emitted whenever the movement of the Gumball ends. In this event you get the current nodes and the matrices that are applied to it.

import { Gumball, GumballEventResponseMapping } from '@shapediver/viewer.features.gumball';
import { addListener, EVENTTYPE_GUMBALL } from '@shapediver/viewer';

// create the Gumball with a viewport and the nodes
const gumball = new Gumball(viewport, nodes);

// listen to the event to be notified of changes
const eventListenerToken = addListener(EVENTTYPE_GUMBALL.MATRIX_CHANGED, (e) => {
    const gumballEvent = e as GumballEventResponseMapping[EVENTTYPE_GUMBALL.MATRIX_CHANGED];

    console.log(
        `Gumball has changed:
        - viewportId: ${gumballEvent.viewportId}
        - nodes: ${gumballEvent.nodes}
        - transformations: ${gumballEvent.transformations}`
    );
});

Settings

There are different settings that can be used to tailor the Gumball to your needs. You can find them in the table below.

| Name | Description | Default | |----------------|-----------------------------|---------| | enableRotation | Enable or disable rotation. | true | | enableScaling | Enable or disable scaling. | true | | enableTranslation | Enable or disable translation. | true | | scale | The scale of the Gumball compared to the screen size. | 0.15 | | space | The space in which the Gumball operates. | local | | reuseTransformation | Reuse the transformation that are already applied to the nodes. | true |
