Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Forked from react-native-osc

Open Sound Control support for sending and receiving OSC messages in React Native. This fork is iOS ONLY! The java package for android is replaced with empty methods.

This fork adds support for typescript.

This uses SwiftOSC for iOS.

Getting started:

$ npm install react-native-osc --save

In ios/Podfile add: use_frameworks!

$ cd ios && pod install

Usage

Send OSC message (OSC client):

import osc from 'react-native-osc';

var portOut = 9090;

//OSC server IP address like "192.168.1.80" or "localhost"
var address = 'localhost';

//create the client only once in componentDidMount
osc.createClient(address, portOut);

//now you can send OSC messages like this (only after creating a client)
osc.sendMessage('/address/', [1.0, 0.5]);

//send any combination of integers, floats, bool & string values:
osc.sendMessage('/address/', ['string value', 1, false, 0.5]);

Receive OSC messages (OSC server):

import { NativeEventEmitter } from 'react-native';

import osc from 'react-native-osc';

//create an event emiter sending the native osc module as parameter
const eventEmitter = new NativeEventEmitter(osc);

//subscribe to GotMessage event to receive OSC messages
eventEmitter.addListener('GotMessage', (oscMessage) => {
  console.log('message: ', oscMessage);
});

var portIn = 9999;

//iOS can listen to specific "/adress/", leave it emtpy to listen to all
var addressToListen = '';

// to start listening to OSC messages (iOS):
osc.createServer(portIn);

//to receive OSC messages your client should be addressing your device IP address

Supported types:

i Integer: two’s complement int32.

f Float: IEEE float32.

~~s NULL-terminated ASCII string.~~

~~b Blob, (aka byte array) with size.~~

T True.

F False.

~~N Null: (aka nil, None, etc).~~

~~I Impulse: (aka “bang”).~~

Tested with:

Xcode:11.3.1 - iOS_SDK: 13 - RN: 0.61.5
