Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Node.js's ThreadLocal -- Async Context Bound

Using Node.js's ThreadLocal to trace request information among middlewares or RPC.

ThreadLocal in Node.js also means "Async Context Bound". Because of event loop in libuv, Async Context Bound has the same effect just like threadlocal storage.

node.js's version >= 8.9.4

一、快速上手

install

npm install @rockerjs/tls

@rockerjs/tls only save async context wrapped in promise, #because asyncId and triggerAsyncId related to execution timing, not causality.

示例 1

import { ThreadLocal } from '../index';
let tls = new ThreadLocal();

tls.run(async ()=>{
    tls.setProp("traceInfo", {
        invoke: "noop"
    });

    await new Promise((res) => {
        setTimeout(() => {
            console.log('get Traceinfo in timer', tls.getProp("traceInfo"));
            res();
        }, 20);
    });

    setTimeout(() => {
        console.log('can\'t get Traceinfo in timer', tls.getProp("traceInfo"));
    }, 20);

    console.log('get Traceinfo in function', tls.getProp("traceInfo"))
});

实例2

import { ThreadLocal } from '../index';
import * as fs from "fs";
import * as path from "path";
import * as koa from "koa";
let tls = new ThreadLocal();
var app = new koa();
var Logger = {
    info(msg) {
        console.log(msg, tls.getProp('traceId'));
    }
};

let business = async function(ctx){
    let v = await new Promise((res)=>{
        setTimeout(()=>{
            Logger.info('service执行结束')
            res(123);
        },1000);
    });
    let c = await new Promise((res, rej)=>{
        fs.readFile(path.join(process.cwd(), "package.json"), "utf8", (e,d)=>{
            if (e) {
                return rej(e);
            }
            res(d);
        });
    })
    ctx.body = 'hello world' + c;
    Logger.info(`请求返回, path: ${ctx.url}`)
};

app.use(async(ctx, next)=>{
    await tls.run(async ()=>{
        tls.setProp('traceId', Date.now())
        await business(ctx);
        Logger.info("end of callback...");
    });
    await next();
});

app.use(async(ctx, next) => {
    await tls.run(async ()=>{
        tls.setProp('traceId',123123)
        Logger.info("last filter...");
    });
});

app.listen(8088);

Logger.info(`server start, listening port 8088`);
