Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@restackio/integrations-twilio

This package provides a Twilio integration for Restack, allowing you to easily incorporate Twilio functionality into your Restack-powered applications.

Installation

To install the package, use npm or yarn:

npm install @restackio/integrations-twilio

Usage

Setting up the Twilio Service

To use the Twilio integration, you need to set up the Twilio service in your application:

// services.ts
import Restack from "@restackio/ai";
import { twilioService } from "@restackio/integrations-twilio";

export async function services() {
  const client = new Restack();
  twilioService({
    client,
    options: {
      rateLimit: 1, // Adjust as needed
    },
  }).catch((err) => {
    console.error("Error starting Twilio service:", err);
  });
}

services().catch((err) => {
  console.error("Error running services:", err);
});

Making a Twilio Call

You can use the twilioCall function to initiate a call inside one of your workflows:

// twilioCall.ts

import { log, step } from "@restackio/ai/workflow";
import * as twilioFunctions from "@restackio/integrations-twilio/functions";
import { twilioTaskQueue } from "@restackio/integrations-twilio/taskQueue";

export async function twilioCallWorkflow() {
  const result = await step<typeof twilioFunctions>({
    taskQueue: twilioTaskQueue,
  }).twilioCall({
    accountSid: "YOUR_ACCOUNT_SID",
    authToken: "YOUR_AUTH_TOKEN",
    options: {
      to: "+1234567890",
      from: "+0987654321",
      url: "http://example.com/twiml",
    },
  });
  log.info("Call SID:", result.sid);
}

Configuration

Make sure to set the following environment variables:

  • TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID: Your Twilio Account SID
  • TWILIO_AUTH_TOKEN: Your Twilio Auth Token

You can also pass these credentials directly to the twilioCall function if needed.

Available Functions

  • twilioCall: Initiates a Twilio call

Task Queue

The Twilio integration uses a dedicated task queue named "twilio" for processing Twilio-related tasks.

Rate Limiting

The Twilio service is configured with a default rate limit of 1 request per second. You can adjust this in the twilioService options if needed, but be mindful of Twilio's rate limits.
