Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

react-intercom-hook

Easy to use React Hook for Intercom.

NPM Publish

Features

  • No need to mess with index.html, the Intercom script snippet is injected automatically
  • Configurable in React, defaults to global window settings
  • Automatically reboots when app id or user changes
  • Exposes the standard Intercom Javascript API
  • Full Typescript definitions

Install

# npm
$ npm install @reclaim-ai/react-intercom-hook

# yarn
$ yarn add @reclaim-ai/react-intercom-hook

Quickstart

  1. Initialize Intercom by passing in settings somewhere near the root of your app, usually App.tsx or App.jsx.
// App.tsx

import React from 'react';
import useIntercom from '@reclaim-ai/react-intercom-hook';

const App: React.FC = () => {
  // Configure and initialize Intercom by passing a settings argument
  const intercom = useIntercom({
    app_id: INTERCOM_APP_ID,  // app_id is required
    // ... all other settings are optional
  });

  return (
    // ...
  );
}
  1. Include without arguments in any child component to interact with Intercom.
// AppRouter.tsx

import React, { useEffect } from 'react';
import useIntercom from '@reclaim-ai/react-intercom-hook';
import { BrowserRouter as Router, useLocation } from "react-router-dom";

const AppRouter: React.FC = () => {
  // Call with no arguments to get the current instance of Intercom
  const intercom = useIntercom();
  const location = useLocation();

  useEffect(() => {
      // Track route changes
      intercom('update');
  }, [intercom, location]);

  return (
    // ...
  );
}
