Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Licensebot Client for JavaScript

Update

Run licensebot update [bundlePath] to compile the repository's dependency licenses into a JSON file at bundlePath. bundlePath defaults to licenses.json in the repository's top level.

Licensebot will fail with an error if any dependencies are blacklisted. This error is unavoidable by design.

This command is intended to be used during development, and the bundle file should be committed alongside any dependency modifications.

Check

Run licensebot check [bundlePath] to verify that the repository's license bundle is up-to-date. bundlePath defaults to licenses.json in the repository's top level.

This command is intended to be used in an automated build process, as a sanity check to ensure the license bundle is not out of date.
