Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Momentum Design System UI Kits

Momentum Design System provides UI libraries to assist in creating Cisco Webex designs. The libraries are here to optimize our designers’ workflow as they provide the most commonly used components across Webex products. We have five libraries: one for each platform that our products are built for. Each library is constantly evolving as the functionality and needs of our applications change. The following guide will help set up the libraries to automatically update in Sketch whenever we push any updates.

Requirements

Sketch

Download the most recent version of Sketch.

Cisco Sans fonts

  1. Download the Cisco Sans fonts from the Momentum UI repository
  2. Install the Cisco Sans fonts on your system

Getting Started

The Momentum Design team has made optimizations with this Sketch Library so you can more efficiently create Cisco Webex interfaces. In the instructions below, we’ll cover the basics and some tips for you to get started.

Sketch Libraries allow you to have Momentum Design components and patterns available from Sketch’s symbols menu in any file you open. Sketch Libraries will automatically update your designs when the library is updated. Your designs will never be out of date if they’re linked to this Sketch Library document.

How to link the Momentum Design Sketch UI Kits as Sketch Libraries

  1. Copy and paste the following link in any browser. This will subscribe your Sketch application to automatically download and install new versions of the Momentum Design System Sketch UI Kit.
  • Web Library: sketch://add-library?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdownloads.momentum-ui.com%2Fui-kits%2Fmomentum-ui-web-sketch-rss.xml
  1. Your browser may ask you if you want to open Sketch. Select Open Sketch.
  1. Sketch will open and automatically open Preferences and take you to the Libraries tab. Your chosen library will take a moment to sync will then be completely ready to use.
  1. That's it! Now you can access your libraries from the Symbols icon or under the insert menu in Sketch.

Alternatively, download the Sketch Library in this repository you'd like to install. Open Sketch > Preferences > Libraries and click Add Library.... Select the library you'd like to install.

Verify that you've successfully installed the Sketch Library by opening Sketch > Preferences > Libraries. You should see all of the libraries you installed above.

Contributing, Feature Requests and Bug Reporting

The Momentum Design System team welcomes your help in maintaining the MDS Component Library. Please add any bugs or feature requests under the Issues tab of this repository.

External contributions are currently closed Throughout a release, Momentum's design team contributes to these Sketch files through an application called Abstract. Public contributions become unmanageable to merge since they are added to a version that is out of date.
