Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

TypeScript typings for Gmail Postmaster Tools API v1

The Postmaster Tools API is a RESTful API that provides programmatic access to email traffic metrics (like spam reports, delivery errors etc) otherwise available through the Gmail Postmaster Tools UI currently. For detailed description please check documentation.

Installing

Install typings for Gmail Postmaster Tools API:

npm install @types/gapi.client.gmailpostmastertools@v1 --save-dev

Usage

You need to initialize Google API client in your code:

gapi.load('client', () => {
  // now we can use gapi.client
  // ...
});

Then load api client wrapper:

gapi.client.load('gmailpostmastertools', 'v1', () => {
  // now we can use gapi.client.gmailpostmastertools
  // ...
});

Don't forget to authenticate your client before sending any request to resources:

// declare client_id registered in Google Developers Console
var client_id = '',
  scope = [
      // See email traffic metrics for the domains you have registered in Gmail Postmaster Tools
      'https://www.googleapis.com/auth/postmaster.readonly',
    ],
    immediate = true;
// ...

gapi.auth.authorize(
  { client_id: client_id, scope: scope, immediate: immediate },
  authResult => {
    if (authResult && !authResult.error) {
        /* handle successful authorization */
    } else {
        /* handle authorization error */
    }
});

After that you can use Gmail Postmaster Tools API resources:

/*
Gets a specific domain registered by the client. Returns NOT_FOUND if the domain does not exist.
*/
await gapi.client.gmailpostmastertools.domains.get({ name: "name",  });

/*
Lists the domains that have been registered by the client. The order of domains in the response is unspecified and non-deterministic. Newly created domains will not necessarily be added to the end of this list.
*/
await gapi.client.gmailpostmastertools.domains.list({  });
