Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

futarchy-template

Aragon DAO template for deploying a futarchy DAO instance

Staging Deploy

run npm run newFutarchyDAO:staging to deploy to rinkeby

look for the DeployDAO event in the output to get the address of the newly deployed rinkeby DAO:

...
event: 'DeployDao',
    args: { dao: '<address_of_rinkeby_dao>' } },
...

go to rinkeby.aragon.org/#/<address_of_rinkeby_dao>

Things to watch out for...

The template deploys the latest versions of Futarchy and Oracle Manager published to the open.aragonpm.eth APM on rinkeby.

If the apps are not showing up in the DAO, the front-end code might not be propagated to aragon's IPFS node ipfs.eth.aragon.network. Propagate latest versions by adding to aragon/deployments via scripts/save and submitting a PR.

Local Deploy

Copy config.default.json to config.local.json.

pull the aragon/aragon repo locally (the aragon front-end). Checkout latest release (currently 0.8.0-hotifx). Run npm install.

run npm run compile

run npm run devchain:reset and clear application cache for localhost:3000 (Aragon client)

deploy github.com/levelkdev/token-price-oracles

  • npm run deploy:local
  • Copy the tokenPriceDataFeed address to the oracleManagerSettings.dataFeedSources array

deploy github.com/levelkdev/futarchy-app:

  • npm run deploy:lib_workaround:local
  • aragon apm publish major --files dist --environment local

deploy github.com/levelkdev/oracle-manager-app:

  • aragon apm publish major --files dist --environment local

run npm run deploy:rpc to deploy the template to the local devchain

Copy the deployed template address to "futarchyTemplateAddress" in config.local.json

run npm run newFutarchyDAO:local to deploy a futarchy DAO to the local devchain. Save the DAO address that is output in the event logs.

from the aragon/aragon repo, run npm run start:local

go to localhost:3000/#/<DAO_ADDRESS>

Set Decision

Use this script to set a decision to YES or NO

npm run setDecision:local <futarchyAppAddress> <decisionID> <YES||NO>
