Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@jacobtipp/replay-bloc

A package that provides mixins which adds automatic undo and redo support and cubit states. Built to work with @jacobtipp/bloc.

Installation

npm install @jacobtipp/replay-bloc

Usage

Creating a ReplayCubit

import { Cubit } from "@jacobtipp/bloc"
import { WithReplayCubit } from "@jacobtipp/replay-bloc"
//
// Create a base cubit that extends from Cubit
class CounterCubitBase extends Cubit<number> {}
// Wrap your Cubit with WithReplayCubit mixin
class CounterCubit extends WithReplayCubit(CounterCubitBase) {
  increment = () => this.emit(this.state + 1);
}

Using a ReplayCubit

function main() {
  const cubit = new CounterCubit(0);

  // trigger a state change
  cubit.increment();
  console.log(cubit.state); // 1

  // undo a change
  cubit.undo();
  console.log(cubit.state); // 0

  // redo the change
  cubit.redo();
  console.log(cubit.state) // 1
}

If you wish to be able to use a WithReplayCubit in conjuction with a different type of mixin like WithHydratedCubit, you can compose multiple mixins together.

import { Cubit } from "@jacobtipp/bloc"
import { WithReplayCubit } from "@jacobtipp/replay-bloc"
import { WithHydratedCubit } from "@jacobtipp/hydrated-bloc"

// Create a base cubit that extends from Cubit
class CounterCubitBase extends Cubit<number> {}

const ReplayAndHydrated = WithHydratedCubit(WithReplayCubit(CounterCubitBase))

class CounterCubit extends ReplayAndHydrated {
  constructor(count: number) {
    super(count)
    this.hydrate()
  }

  increment = () => this.emit(this.state + 1)

  undoIncrement = () => this.undo()
}

Creating a ReplayBloc

import { Bloc } from "@jacobtipp/bloc"
import { WithReplayBloc } from "@jacobtipp/replay-bloc"
// events
abstract class CounterEvent extends ReplayEvent {}

class Increment extends CounterEvent {}

// Create a base bloc that extends from Bloc
class CounterBlocBase extends Bloc<CounterEvent, number> {}
// Wrap your Bloc with WithReplayBloc mixin
class CounterBloc extends WithReplayBloc(CounterBlocBase) {
  constructor(count: number) {
    super(count)

    this.on(Increment, (event, emit) => emit(this.state + 1))
  }
}

Using a ReplayBloc

function main() {
  const bloc = new CounterBloc(0);

  // trigger a state change
  bloc.add(new Increment())
  await delay(1000) // wait for event to be handled
  console.log(bloc.state); // 1

  // undo a change
  bloc.undo();
  console.log(bloc.state); // 0

  // redo the change
  bloc.redo();
  console.log(bloc.state) // 1
}

If you wish to be able to use a WithReplayBloc in conjuction with a different type of mixin like WithHydratedBloc, you can compose multiple mixins together.

// events
import { Bloc } from "@jacobtipp/bloc"
import { WithReplayBloc } from "@jacobtipp/replay-bloc"
import { WithHydratedBloc } from "@jacobtipp/hydrated-bloc"

abstract class CounterEvent extends ReplayEvent {}

class Increment extends CounterEvent {}

// Create a base bloc that extends from Bloc
class CounterBlocBase extends Bloc<CounterEvent, number> {}

const ReplayAndHydrated = WithHydratedBloc(WithReplayBloc(CounterBlocBase))

class CounterBloc extends ReplayAndHydrated {
  constructor(count: number) {
    super(count)
    this.hydrate()
  }

  undoIncrement = () => this.undo()
}
