Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Cauldron Authentication

What does this do?

Cauldron Authentication is responsible for authenticating Minecraft Users using the Microsoft Authentication System which is the only way to login to Mojang now. This package provides all the tools needed to aquire a Minecraft Access token from a oauth token.

Setup

To Install the package run the following command

npm i @jackcooper04/cauldronauthentication --save

Using Cauldron Authentication

Cauldron Authentication is split into multiple exports. They are listed below.

Functions

startAuthenticationFlow (azureCredentials, refreshToken)

This function performs the authentication flow turning a refresh token into a minecraft access token and getting the profile information for the user.

It takes the following parameters

  • azureCredentials (Required)

  • refreshToken (Required) - Refresh Token from original oauth flow

On completion the function will return two objects one to save in a file and another that can be used to launch a Minecraft Session.

Information

In order to use this package you need to provide a way to get a access token. In order to do this you need to create a Azure application. See here for more information.
