Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

  apiKey: 'test-key',
  userId: '1',
  tags: [],
  placeholders: {
    username: 'Guest',
  },
  lang: 'en',

};

const createStoryManager = () => {
  const storyManager = new StoryManager(storyManagerConfig);
  storyManager.getGoodsCallback((skus: string[]) => {

        color: 'white',
      },
    });
};

export const storyManager = createStoryManager();

export const appearanceManager = createAppearanceManager();

Story View

To display feed, use StoriesList component. storiesListViewModel allows to reload the story feed using storiesListViewModel.current.reload().

import { StoriesList } from '@inappstory/react-native-sdk';
import {
  type StoriesListViewModel,
} from '@inappstory/react-native-sdk';
...
const storiesListViewModel = React.useRef<StoriesListViewModel>();
const viewModelExporter = React.useCallback(
  (viewModel: StoriesListViewModel) =>
    (storiesListViewModel.current = viewModel),
  []
);
...

<StoriesList
  storyManager={storyManager}
  appearanceManager={appearanceManager}
  feed={feedId}
  onLoadStart={onLoadStart}
  onLoadEnd={onLoadEnd}
  viewModelExporter={viewModelExporter}
/>;

Favorites

If you use favorites, use onFavoriteCell event that fires when user clicks on favorites cell

storyManager.on('onFavoriteCell', () => {
  //Navigate to favorites screen
});

To display favorite stories, pass favoritesOnly to

<StoriesList favoritesOnly={true} />

Vertical Stories list

To display items vertically, use vertical=true

<StoriesList vertical={true} />

Custom Story Cell

To render custom cells, add renderCell function to StoriesList

<StoriesList
  ...props
  renderCell={(story) => {
    return <Text>{story.storyID}</Text>;
  }}
/>

Games

InAppStorySDK.showGame(gameID);

Tags

InAppStorySDK.setTags(['tag1']);

Placeholders

InAppStorySDK.setPlaceholders({ username: 'John Doe' });

Image Placeholders

InAppStorySDK.setImagesPlaceholders({
  image1: 'https://example.com/image.jpg',
});

Story Reader Appearance

InAppStorySDK.setOverScrollToClose(value);
InAppStorySDK.setSwipeToClose(value);
InAppStorySDK.setTimerGradientEnable(value);
InAppStorySDK.setCloseButtonPosition(value);
InAppStorySDK.setScrollStyle(value);
InAppStorySDK.setPresentationStyle(value);
InAppStorySDK.setReaderBackgroundColor(value);
InAppStorySDK.setReaderCornerRadius(value);

Likes, Share, Favorites

InAppStorySDK.setHasLike(value);
InAppStorySDK.setHasShare(value);
InAppStorySDK.setHasFavorites(value);

Sound

//To change sound settings
InAppStorySDK.changeSound(value);
//Get sound status
const soundEnabled = await InAppStorySDK.getSound();

Goods

To use goods widget, add a function that returns products to getGoodsObject

storyManager.getGoodsObject((skus) => {
  //TODO: return array of Goods
  return skus.map((sku) => ({
    sku: sku, //item sku
    title: 'title of ' + sku, //item title for cell
    subtitle: 'subtitle of ' + sku, //item subtitle for cell
    imageURL: '', //image url for cell
    price: Number(Math.random() * 1000).toFixed(2), //price value for cell
    oldPrice: Number(Math.random() * 1000).toFixed(2),
  }));
});

After goods item is selected,

storyManager.on('goodItemSelected', (payload: any) => {
   // User selected payload.sku SKU
});

Events

To subscribe to events, use storyManager.on or storyManager.once

storyManager.on(eventName, (payload) => {
  console.log(eventName, payload);
});

Custom Icons

  1. Add images to your project assets

  2. Configure required InAppStorySDK icons before showing stories:

InAppStorySDK.setLikeImage(image, activeImage);
InAppStorySDK.setDislikeImage(image, activeImage);
InAppStorySDK.setFavoriteImage(image, activeImage);
InAppStorySDK.setShareImage(image, activeImage);
InAppStorySDK.setSoundImage(image, activeImage);
InAppStorySDK.setCloseReaderImage(image);
InAppStorySDK.setRefreshImage(image);
InAppStorySDK.setRefreshGoodsImage(image);
InAppStorySDK.setCloseGoodsImage(image);

image and activeImage parameters are the names of the images in your assets folder.

InAppStorySDK.setLikeImage('like', 'likeSelected');

Migrating from old version

Breaking changes:

  1. Font settings are defined using separate variables (fontSize, fontWeight, fontFamily) instead of a string
  2. If you used svgMask in appearance manager, try to use custom cells to achieve same results.
