Scott's World
This explorable illustrates a model for the growth of a bacterial population on a two-dimensional food substrate. Individual bacteria are mobile, eat the food source and reproduce. The emergent patterns depend on the bacterial mobility, the physical resistance of the substrate and the amount of food available.
The explorable is part of the Complexity Exporables Collection. For more information about the system and its behavior consult the explorable

Installation & Use
Out of the box you can use the explorable in a basic index.html
file like this
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1">
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@explorables/scotts_world"></script>
</head>
<body class="avenir pa3 pa5-ns tj">
<div id="explorable_container"></div>
</body>
<script type="text/javascript">
scotts_world.load("explorable_container")
</script>
</html>
The header <script>
tag loads the bundle, the <div>
in the document is the container in which the explorable gets anchored when the function scotts_world.load()
gets executed at the bottom. The load
function needs the <div>
container id
as an argument.
