Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@esri/hub-solutions

Module to interact with ArcGIS Hub Solutions in Node.js and modern browsers.

Example

npm install @esri/hub-solutions

[NOT IMPLEMENTED] Coarse Grained API

The @esri/hub-solutions exposes both coarse and fine grained APIs. If your application simply needs to create a Solution from a template, then the coarse grained API is for you. If your application is more focused on defining Indicators, working with multiple Solutions, in conjunction with an Initiative (i.e. the Hub), then the fine-grained api is likely a better fit.

Get a Solution Model by Id

import { getSolution  } from '@esri/hub-solutions';

getSolution("solution-item-id", requestOptions)
    .then(
      solutionItemModel => // get back "model" {item:{...}, data:{...}}
    );

Get a Solution Template Model by Id

TODO Document the required permissions/privs required

import { getSolutionTemplate  } from '@esri/hub-solutions';

getSolutionTemplate("template-item-id", requestOptions)
    .then(
      templateItemModel => // get back "model" {item:{...}, data:{...}}
    );

Create a Solution as part of an Initiative

This assumes any required Indicators are already defined as part of the Initiative

TODO Document the required permissions/privs required

import { createInitiativeSolution  } from '@esri/hub-solutions';

createInitiativeSolution("template-item-id", "initiative-item-id", requestOptions)
    .then(
      response => console.log()
    );

Create a Solution not associated with an Initiative

TODO Document the required permissions/privs required

import { createSolution  } from '@esri/hub-solutions';

createSolution("template-item-id", requestOptions)
    .then(
      response => console.log()
    );

Remove a Solution

This will remove the Solution item and all of it's child items. If the Solution is associated with an Initiative (item.properties.initiativeId exists), it will be removed from the Initiative model's relationship hashes.

TODO Document the required permissions/privs required

import { removeSolution  } from '@esri/hub-solutions';

removeSolution("solution-item-id", requestOptions)
    .then(
      response => console.log()
    );

Issues

If something isn't working the way you expected, please take a look at previously logged issues first. Have you found a new bug? Want to request a new feature? We'd love to hear from you.

If you're looking for help you can also post issues on GIS Stackexchange.

Versioning

For transparency into the release cycle and in striving to maintain backward compatibility, @esri/hub.js is maintained under Semantic Versioning guidelines and will adhere to these rules whenever possible.
