Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Layout for Angular

This project is currently a work in progress, and significant updates or breaking changes are anticipated as development continues. We are actively refining and improving the library, so please be aware that functionality may evolve, and existing features could be modified or replaced in future releases.

Overview

The ngx-layout library provides a ready-to-use layout template for Angular applications, featuring a sidebar and a dark/light mode toggle. This library streamlines the process of implementing a consistent layout across projects, saving development time and ensuring a uniform user experience.

Features

  • Sidebar Navigation: Includes a customizable sidebar for easy navigation.
  • Dark/Light Mode Toggle: Built-in support for switching between dark and light themes.

TODO

  • More Customization: Make it easier to configure the layout and styles to match your application's branding.
  • Responsive Layout: Automatically adjusts to different screen sizes, ensuring a great experience on both desktop and mobile devices.

Installation

To install the library, use the following npm command:

npm install @emilgramdk/ngx-layout

Usage

  1. Import CSS: Import the required css as the first style under "styles" in your angular.json

    "styles": [
      "node_modules/@emilgramdk/ngx-layout/lib/assets/styles.css",
      "node_modules/@emilgramdk/ngx-layout/lib/assets/primeng_theme.css" // if using primeng
    ]
  2. Add to App Component: Add the layout to your root component.

    <ngx-layout
      [loading]="appService.isLoading || !authService.token"
      [renderApp]="!appService.initialLoading && authService.token"
    >
    </ngx-layout>
  3. Available Props: You can pass these props to the layout.

    <ngx-layout
       loading="boolean"                     Shows a loader
       renderApp="boolean" Tell the layout to wait for a state before rendering the app
       logo="string"                         Path to logo
       title="string"                        Title in the Topbar
       subTitle="string"                     Subtitle in the Topbar
       showTopbar="boolean"                  Hide the topbar
       sidebarFooter="SidebarFooter"         Pass this to show a footer in the sidebar. {title: string; subTitle: string}
       sidebarFooterOnClick="function"       Footer onClick function
    </ngx-layout>
  4. Topbar buttons: You can add custom buttons to the Topbar with ng-template

    <ngx-layout>
      <ng-template #topbar> Topbar Button </ng-template>
    </ngx-layout>
