Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Claude Tools

Claude Tools is a CLI utility for quickly setting up and managing Claude-related React applications. It streamlines the process of creating new apps with pre-configured settings and components tailored for Claude AI interactions.

Inspiration

This project is inspired by and based on the excellent work done in Bklieger/Claude-React-Jumpstart. We've expanded on the original concept to create a more flexible and extensible CLI tool.

Features

  • Quick setup of a new React app with Vite
  • Automatic installation and configuration of Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI
  • Creation of a customizable main component for Claude AI interaction
  • Optional installation of lucide-react for icons
  • Interactive CLI interface for easy project setup

Usage

To create a new Claude-ready React app, run:

npx claude-tools new-app

If you haven't used claude-tools before, npx will prompt you to install it temporarily. After confirming, it will run the command.

Follow the interactive prompts to customize your new app:

  1. Enter the name of your project
  2. Specify the name of the main component
  3. Choose whether to install lucide-react for icons

The tool will then create a new directory with your app name, set up the React project with Vite, install necessary dependencies, and create the main component.

Quickstart

After creating your app, follow these steps to get started:

  1. Navigate to your new app directory:

    cd your-app-name
  2. Start the development server:

    npm run dev
  3. Open your browser and visit http://localhost:5173 to see your new app in action!

Development

To contribute to Claude Tools:

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/claude-tools.git
    cd claude-tools
  2. Install dependencies:

    npm install
  3. Make your changes and test them locally:

    node index.js new-app
  4. Submit a pull request with your changes.
