Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

npm pack and install a remote package

Sometimes, some packages can't be installed on CI/CD. Installing these packages as a tarball file can be an alternative. npi reduces the repetition of pack and install commands.

Usage

# global install
npm i @byungi/npi -g

# run script
npi react@^17 react-dom@^17

CLI

  Description
    npm pack and install a remote package.

  Usage
    $ npi <package> [options]

  Options
    -i, --installer    Package manager for install. (npm, yarn, pnpm)
    -d, --dir          Directory to download.  (default vendors)
    -D, --dev          Install to devDependencies.
    -P, --peer         Install to peerDependencies.
    -O, --optional     Install to optionalDependencies.
    -v, --version      Displays current version
    -h, --help         Displays this message

  Examples
    $ npi react@^17 react-dom@^17
    $ npi jest webpack --dev --installer yarn
