Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Warcraft III Quotes

Summary

Wrapper returning Warcraft III quotes with metadata.

Also contains quick scripts to extract and transform Warcraft III quotes. Grabs every unique quote found.
Includes selectable melee unit quotes and selectable campaign unit quotes. Only campaign units which have unique quotes are grabbed (i.e. melee units take precedence).

Quotes involving gibberish are not included.

Does not include cinematic or cutscene quotes.

Thanks to https://wowwiki.fandom.com/ for housing the quotes.

Notice

succubus-quotes.json was manually created under ./extract/. This is due to the fact that the succubus unit was missing from the site scraped.

Installation

npm i @blizzard-quotes/warcraft-3-quotes

Execution

Extract quotes and generate JSON files for each faction

npm run extract

Extracted quotes can be found under ./quotes/extract

Transform quotes and generate JSON files for each faction along with one JSON file to rule them all.

npm run transform

Transformed quotes for each faction can be found under ./quotes/transform.

./quotes/warcraft-3-quotes.json contains all quotes.
