Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

nisect

Track down which version of a package introduced a bug.

Next.js + bisect = nisect. Name pending...

Inspired by vercel bisect.

Installation

pnpm i -g @balazsorban/nisect

Usage

Use it in a Next.js repository.

Usage: nisect [options]

Options:
  -D, --dev            run 'next dev' (default: true)
  -P, --production     run 'next build && next start'
  --per-page <number>  number of last releases to search in (default: "100")
  -h, --help           display help for command

Todo

  • Make it work with other package managers (hardcoded to pnpm)
  • Make it work with other packages (hardcoded to next)
  • Let the user pass a custom command to run (currently next dev or next build && next start)
